Johnny and Lisa PerMar, owners of JOHNNYANDLISADANCE, are professional dancers with over 30 years of experience that continue to demonstrate beautiful chemistry on and off the dance floor.
Johnny danced for many years with the Southern Ballet Theater in Orlando. He is a Universal Buck Dancing Champion and was teaching across the nation at the age of 16. He is a Rising Star and Open Professional American Smooth Finalist and has won a multitude of Top Teacher Awards in many dance styles.
Lisa won her first competition in UCWDC in 1995. She then competed in West Coast Swing, winning her first championship at the Fort Lauderdale ‘Just Swingin’ Open swing competition. Soon after, she met Johnny and they began their successful career together. She is known for her beautiful dancing and unique styling. Together, some of their accomplishments include Two-time Florida State West Coast Swing Champions, US National Division 1 West Coast Swing Champions, US National second place in Cabaret Division, Harborview DanceSport Open Professional “Anything Goes” Champions.
Lisa and Johnny organized the ‘Will Dance for Food Drive’, collecting more than two tons of food, benefiting Saint Matthew’s House and the Harry Chapin Food Bank in Collier County. They also organized a Christmas bike drive to collect bikes and toys for underprivileged children in December of 2020. They believe in the wonders of what a little kindness can do for the whole community and are delighted to have this Dancing with the Naples Stars event to benefit Pathways to continue to spread happiness and kindness.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, Gabriella’s love and talent for the performing arts were realized at an early age. She started ballroom dancing at 17, and quickly rocketed to the top, winning most major titles in Hungary. At 21 she moved to Salzburg, Austria, where she taught and competed throughout Europe. Gabriella dominated the circuit and became champion in every level of competitive dancing in which she participated.
In 2006, Gabriella accepted an invitation by the Fred Astaire dance studio in Jupiter, Florida to come to the US. She quickly became a highly sought-after coach, teacher, and performer on both coasts of Florida, including performing in Dancing with the Stars events. Known for her fun, energetic, and friendly teaching style, Gabriella works with students of all levels, from beginner-to-advanced, social-to-competitive, fun, and serious.
As an independent professional, Gabriella is excited to offer Naples private dance lessons, small private group classes, dance workout experiences, wedding choreographies, party and event shows, and dance partnerships to anyone wanting to experience dancing the night away with a professional dance partner. Her passionate performances are guaranteed to move you, stir your emotions and touch your heart. This Dancing with the Naples Stars event to benefit Pathways Early Education Center of Immokalee is another opportunity for Gabriella to demonstrate her support for the community.
Alyssa Layne has over 20 years of experience, spanning many different dance forms. During her 16 years of ballet training in West Palm Beach, Florida, she performed with studios and companies such as Demetrius Klein Dance Company, Susan Lyle’s Dance Company (Now Ballet East), Florida School for Dance Education, and Miami City Ballet.
At the age of 18 she transitioned her passion for ballet, acrobatics, and contemporary dance to ballroom. Alyssa learned American Smooth and Rhythm, training and teaching for three years. She then transitioned to Johnny and Lisa Dance where she has had many wonderful opportunities in the ballroom world. She partnered with a student and was the winning couple for Dancing with the Local Starts here in Naples a few years ago. She continues to grow her expertise and competes professionally with her dance partner, Terry Lee. She loves working with people and feels accomplished when she helps others discover their passions in dance and in life. Alyssa is looking forward to Dancing with the Naples Stars and helping Pathways.
Pavlo started his professional dance career in 1980 in Lviv Ukraine. During the next six years, he became a principal dancer of Evrica Dance Company in Moscow, Russia and twice won a champion title in International Style Standard in Formation team competitions. In 1987, Pavlo moved back to Ukraine where he founded a ballroom dance company. With his dance partner, Tetyana, Pavlo won numerous competitions as an amateur first and then, in various professional competitions throughout western Europe.
His other credits include the development of children's dance formation movements and the foundation of TV dance programs in Lviv, Ukraine, directing and choreographing show performances in United Arab Emirates (1994-1995) and Turkey (1996). In 1995, Pavlo's personal dancing and teaching achievements were recognized by Ukraine's Dance Sport Association, presenting him with the highest award.
Pavlo has taught at Stepping Out dance studios in Manhattan, New York since 1988. During his 16 years there, he and his students competed and won in many competitions across the country, such as the Pro-Am Manhattan Dance Championships and Emerald Ball Championships in Los Angeles. He is very happy to be part of the professional team supporting Pathways at the Dancing with the Naples Stars event.
Terry Lee has over 15 years of dance experience in American Smooth and Rhythm dance. As a child, he trained in gymnastics and martial arts, giving him a good foundation for dance. He first started learning salsa and bachata, after which he discovered his love for dance and took up ballroom dancing.
Terry trains constantly in his pursuit to be a champion in Cabaret and compete in American Rhythm with his partner Alyssa Layne. He is exceptional in bringing a better understanding of dance to his students so that they can learn with as much ease as possible. Terry gains a great feeling of achievement and pride in helping others find the same love for dance that he has and is happy to be helping Pathways by supporting Dancing with the Naples Stars.
