Lois Bolin Ph.D.
Lois Bolin, Ph.D., has blended her talents as a strategic innovator with her love of community, veterans, and history for the past 43 years to become one of the area’s favorite speakers and leading champions for raising awareness on the economic and sociological value of local history and its connection to Florida’s Role in WWII. She has served on the National Leadership team for "Spirit of 45" and facilitated Florida in becoming the first state to approve a resolution making the second Sunday in August the official day to remember the ending of WWII and the legacy of the greatest generation. In 2015, the British Consulate-General commended Dr. Bolin for her work in encouraging Florida to launch Victory Florida, promoting Florida’s role in WWII and its one-of-a-kind Heritage Trail.
Lois has earned recognition as a Woman of Achievement (AAUW); Woman of Initiative, (CFCC); Woman in History, ABWA Neapolitan Chapter. She is on the Board of Directors of SWFL Veterans Alliance Inc. and a REALTOR with Naples Square Realty, where 20% of her commissions go to SWFL Veterans Alliance, Inc. She has written over 300 articles on local history for Florida Weekly, Life in Naples magazine, and Experience SWFL magazine, where she serves as the Cultural Heritage Editor.
Married to Retired Executive and USAF Veteran and Vietnam POW, Wayne Smith, they share their home with Jesse and James (kittens), Lulu Belle (Havanese), and Frankie T, a 10-year-old red-eared slider (turtle!). Lois supports numerous community projects and is happy to be part of Dancing with the Naples Stars in support of Pathways.
